- Tumbling and Stunt Instructor -
A current member of the Shorter College Large Coed competitive cheer team, Josh brings a tremendous level of experience to his coaching position at Hot Shots. Josh began his collegiate cheerleading career at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. From Southeastern, he transferred to Morehead State University, where he was a competitive cheerleader for 1 year, then on to the Division 1 powerhouse University of Louisville. Josh transferred to Shorter to help be a part of building a brand-new nationally competitive cheer program and to finish his degree at a faith-based institution.
As a cheerleading instructor, Josh coached gymnastics at the YMCA in Lakeland, Fl for two years. He then went on to coach cheerleading at Gymtek, Gym Etc, Brandon All Stars, Gym Tyme All Stars in Louisville, Kentucky, and served as the head tumbling instructor at Galaxy All Stars in Winter Haven, Florida. As a member of the 2009 Shorter Large Coed squad, Josh helped lead the first-year competitive program all the way to the NCA Collegiate National Finals, finishing as NCA National Runner-Up behind 7 time National Champions Hawaii Pacific University.
When asked why he coaches, Josh says �I LOVE to see improvement! I want my students to get better and move on to the elite level!� When asked what makes him a GOOD coach, Josh says �The Lord has blessed me tremendously with the ability to learn and perform elite cheerleading skills, and I want to harness that knowledge and experience and help pass it on to others!� When asked what Josh wants you to know about him, he says �I have a twin brother who cheered with me at SEU. I have been a worship leader for more than 3 years, and plan to graduate from Shorter with a degree in Integrated Studies.�
